For the BLUELOCK finale, Crunchyroll and LA Galaxy tried something: what if we actually brought anime onto a soccer field? We called it BLUELOCK NIGHT. July 8, 2024, LA Galaxy vs. Philadelphia Union.

The LA Galaxy academy players also joined the fun, recreating goals and plays straight from the show. People loved it. You had anime fans sitting next to Galaxy diehards, all sharing the same moment. We also teamed up with Saturdays Football to run tournaments in LA and Dallas. Local players showed up in droves. We filmed everything.

Social channels went wild with clips and reactions, thousands of people interacted with the campaign. Tournaments sold out. The finale got way more buzz than it would've sitting on a streaming platform alone. Turns out soccer and anime fans aren't that different when you give them something real to rally around.
