BLUE LOCK is an anime about soccer, so for the finale we took it to a real field. I built the campaign with LA Galaxy and Saturdays Football.

It kicked off with a king-of-the-hill tournament for anime and Galaxy fans on the Galaxy's futsal fields. Kids from the LA Galaxy Academy recreated goals straight from the show, and we filmed all of it. The clips took off and thousands of people jumped in online, so we ran a second tournament in Dallas, where players got to meet the voice actors. Both sold out.

Then came BLUE LOCK Night at the Galaxy's stadium on July 8, 2023, against the Philadelphia Union, with co-branded jackets and custom scarves to give away. The finale got way more buzz than it would have sitting on a streaming service. Soccer fans and anime fans aren't that different. Give them something to rally around and they show up together.
