Rob Roy Keyart

Action-thriller · 2025

I've always loved stories that trap you in one room. Rob Roy started that way: a shitty bar, a nervous guy, his date and a backpack he shouldn't have brought.

Then two guys walk in, and they're the dangerous kind. What hooked me was watching the nice-guy act crack, how fast friendly turns threatening once you realize the person across from you doesn't care about the same things you do, and how one stupid decision piles onto another until suddenly everyone's fucked.

It's human and darkly funny in spots, the kind of night nobody in it will forget or brag about.

Written by Ren Olivieri. At the 2025 Sherman Oaks Film Festival, Rob Roy won the Grand Jury Award for Best Short Film (Action-Thriller), I won Outstanding Director and Ren won Outstanding Screenplay. It premiered at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and screened at the Omaha Film Festival.
